Overview
Drive and walk testing reproduces the genuine end-user experience across your coverage area, on the road and on foot. Using PIXIP.NET probes and the portable XPack, you continuously test voice, VoLTE, data, messaging and streaming across 2G to 5G while moving through the network.
Every measurement is geo-tagged via GPS, so weak cells, dropped calls and slow spots are mapped precisely for targeted optimisation. Indoor and pedestrian areas — airports, stations, malls and subways — are covered with battery-powered equipment that non-technical staff can operate.
What it does
PIXIP probes collect service and RF data from a moving vehicle (drive testing) or on foot in areas of interest (walk testing), then feed it into the same analysis and reporting as the rest of your testing. The portable XPack houses a MicroPUX and runs on battery for a full day, so non-technical staff can test indoors and in walking zones.
Key capabilities
- Drive testing with car-mountable, 12V probes; results buffered when offline.
- Walk and indoor testing with the portable XPack (up to a full day on battery).
- RF, network and service analysis from one dataset.
- Operable by non-specialist staff.
Outcomes
Pinpoint coverage and capacity gaps, validate optimisation work, and prove indoor quality in key venues.
