XMASS is the heart of the platform: a web-based system that controls field probes to test real services across any network.

XMASS — active end-to-end testing, centrally controlled

Overview

XMASS is a world-class, highly flexible test system and the central engine of the PIXIP.NET platform. Built on open standards (XML, SOAP, Java), its centralised, web-based architecture lets you design a test scenario once and reuse it across every probe in your estate, while plug-in technology means the system can be extended dynamically at any time.

XMASS covers the full testing spectrum — bearer testing (GSM, GPRS, EDGE, UMTS, HSPA, LTE, 5G, LAN/DSL), service testing (voice, data, video, messaging), portal testing (WAP, HTTP and cross-service portals), voice and video quality (PESQ/PSQM, PEVQ) and roaming testing. Its centralised structure significantly reduces support costs and opens new possibilities in large-scale, distributed testing.

What it does

From a single web interface, XMASS drives probes to place calls, send messages, stream video and run data sessions, then measures quality with industry methods. Test scenarios are built from reusable building blocks — no scripting required — and results flow straight into monitoring and reporting.

Highlights

  • Coverage across mobile (2G–5G) and fixed (PSTN, ISDN, DSL, LAN) networks.
  • Voice (POLQA/PESQ/MOS), video (PEVQ), messaging, data, portals and VAS.
  • Building-block scenario designer; large ready-to-use test-case library.
  • Remote, unattended probe control with central data and reporting.
  • Extensible: integrate third-party probes and add custom test cases.
