What does PIXIP.NET do?
PIXIP.NET builds active, end-to-end testing and service-assurance solutions for mobile and fixed-line operators, carriers, MVNOs and regulators. Our probes and platforms continuously measure network, service and application quality from the real subscriber's perspective.
What is active, end-to-end testing — and how is it different from passive monitoring?
Active testing generates real traffic — placing calls, sending messages, streaming video and running data sessions — and measures the result exactly as a customer would experience it. Passive monitoring only observes existing traffic and network counters; active testing reproduces the whole service chain end to end and catches problems passive methods miss.
What is the EMQP platform?
EMQP — the Enterprise Mobile Quality-of-Service platform — unifies active testing (XMASS), near-real-time monitoring (XOS) and extended analysis into one environment, so the experience your subscribers actually receive can be measured end to end.
Which networks and technologies do you support?
Mobile networks from 2G through 5G (GSM/GPRS/EDGE, UMTS/HSPA, LTE/LTE-Advanced, 5G) and fixed networks including PSTN, ISDN, DSL, fibre and LAN — covering voice and VoLTE, data, messaging, multimedia, portals and roaming.
Do you comply with ETSI and 3GPP?
Yes. The system simulates common subscriber behaviour and measures service quality in line with ETSI and 3GPP methods, and supports industry voice and video quality standards such as PESQ, POLQA and PEVQ.
Probes & hardware
What is a probe?
A probe is a hardware unit that simulates real subscribers and their handsets, runs test scenarios end to end and reports the measured quality back to the central platform. PUX is our high-capacity probe; the range scales down to the pocket-sized NeoPUX.
What is the difference between PUX, MiniPUX, MicroPUX, NeoPUX, LanPUX and PBX-PUX?
PUX is the high-capacity 19-inch probe; MiniPUX is a compact unit simulating up to four subscribers; MicroPUX is the smallest GPS-equipped probe for drive and walk testing; NeoPUX is a pocket-sized single-channel IP/LAN/DSL probe; LanPUX provides multi-LAN testing up to 1 Gbit/s; and PBX-PUX handles large-scale voice call termination (up to 1,200 channels).
What is XPack?
XPack is a battery-powered portable case holding up to seven test channels, designed for indoor and walking-area testing — airports, stations, malls and pedestrian zones — and it can be operated by non-technical staff.
Can probes run unattended and be managed remotely?
Yes. Probes run tests unattended, store results locally and upload them automatically to the central server. A multi-level watchdog and remote management over LAN or over-the-air (SMS) keep on-site administration close to zero.
How are SIM cards handled?
The SIM-Farm hosts multiple physical SIMs locally inside a probe and connects any of them to any modem per test scenario. The SIM-Server extends this over the network via SIM multiplexing, so any probe can reach remote SIMs — the basis for remote roaming testing.
Testing & measurement
Can I do drive and walk testing?
Yes. Using MicroPUX and the portable XPack you can run GPS-tagged drive and walk testing across 2G–5G, mapping weak cells, dropped calls and slow spots for targeted optimisation.
How do you measure voice quality?
Voice quality is scored objectively using industry algorithms — PESQ (ITU-T P.862) and its successor POLQA (P.863) for modern and HD/VoLTE voice — producing MOS-style scores that reflect what the listener actually hears.
How is video quality measured?
Video quality is assessed with perceptual algorithms such as PEVQ, which objectively score the experience of a video stream.
How does roaming testing work?
With the SIM-Server and XRoam you can reach SIMs located in partner networks and run real roaming tests without shipping hardware or staff abroad — covering IREG voice and data interoperability, TADIG settlement accuracy and global roaming quality (GRQ).
How are test scenarios created?
Scenarios are built from reusable building blocks in a graphical designer — no scripting required. Custom test cases can be added in Java, and a scenario created once can be reused across any probe in your estate.

What is XMASS?
XMASS is the central, web-based engine of the platform. Built on open standards (XML, SOAP, Java), it controls field probes to run bearer, service, portal and roaming tests, and can be extended with plug-ins at any time.
What is XOS?
XOS is a web-based, near-real-time KPI monitoring system covering data collection, analysis, alarming, troubleshooting and ticketing, with built-in SLA-management features.
What is XRate and revenue assurance?
XRate is a flexible framework for the mediation and rating of usage events. In revenue assurance, controlled reference traffic is reconciled against mediation, rating and billing records to detect mis-rating, dropped records and revenue leakage before they reach the customer.
What is XAnalyse?
XAnalyse is a business-intelligence layer — data warehousing, ETL and enterprise reporting powered by SAP BusinessObjects — that turns large volumes of test data into clear, shareable insight.
How is data reported and integrated?
Results are held in an open database, so reporting and integration options are effectively unlimited; the platform can also integrate third-party probes and custom test cases.

Can you detect SIM-box / interconnect fraud?
Yes. By generating real international test calls and identifying where they are illegally re-originated on local SIMs, the system pinpoints bypass gateways and the SIMs behind them, providing the evidence to block numbers and recover revenue.
